The Nigerian skit maker turned streamer made the bold claim during a live session with Joblaq, calling Twitch the highest paying platform.

Nigerian entertainer Carter Efe has sparked online conversation after claiming that Twitch paid him $250,000 for a one-year deal to promote and stream exclusively on the platform. The statement was made during a recent livestream with fellow content creator Joblaq.

In the stream, Carter Efe casually revealed the supposed value of the partnership, saying, “I was paid $250,000 just to promote the app and stream for one year.” He went on to suggest that Twitch is currently the most rewarding platform for streamers, saying, “Twitch dey pay pass everybody,” in comparison to YouTube and TikTok.

While the deal has not been officially confirmed by Twitch, Carter’s comment has quickly circulated among fans and creators, prompting questions about the platform’s investment in Nigerian and African talent.

Carter Efe, widely known for his viral skits and comedic content, has recently expanded into streaming. Though he hasn’t left skit-making behind, his shift into live streaming signals a new phase in his content journey one that could open more doors within the digital entertainment space.

The claimed $250,000 payout remains unverified, but it highlights the growing interest and competitiveness of major platforms vying for top talent in emerging creator markets.
